ABOUT WALLA WALLA CARES
WW Cares reacts to immediate needs in our community by launching a rapid response campaign. This way, we are able to respond to unplanned and unexpected needs without becoming full time fundraisers nor are we replacing any organized activities by other community efforts.
What is important:
1) No money is directly handled by the group.
2) All the money donated goes to the intended cause.
3) Each campaign will show a clear and defined methodology for distributing the funds/goods as outlined in the need.
4) Each campaign will have a one/several designated liaison(s) who will be the primary contact for WW Cares.
5) When a goal for each campaign is met, we will close that particular campaign.
Members were exceeding generous in filling up the pantry at the Center for Children and Families just in time for the holiday weekend.
Our first campaign was launched in September 2020 when we were made aware that some families were not able to pay their school meal bills. Walla Walla Cares members raised more than $2600 to help clear these debts.
Each campaign is both hyper-local in focus and responds to a specific and usually unplanned need in our Walla Walla Community.
From the grass-roots outpouring for Walla Walla Gratitude Train, we recognized that there are other needs that if the community was made aware of - generous, caring people would act.
We are not a non-profit, rather a small group of volunteers who self-fund our efforts. This means that there is no overhead or salaries.
Therefore, we endeavor not to touch any monetary donation except to make sure it gets to where it is destined. 100% of your donation goes to the cause.
For more information, see our Creed statement.
Our community is full of people who want to help. We connect caring people to the staff and organizations providing services with the people who need them.
Join us and connect with the Walla Walla community in new ways.
